Soybean meal is a by-product of soybean crushing in the production of crude soybean oil and is available in flake form referred to as "meal" , or more conveniently in the "pellet" form used as animal feed.

Principal producers are the USA , Argentina, Brazil And India, each exporting different qualities with varying protein contents ranging from 41 to 48 percent.
